Camille Flammarion

Camille Flammarion (1842-1925) was a French astronomer, science writer, and pioneer of psychical research. A prolific author, he wrote extensively on astronomy, cosmology, and unexplained phenomena, helping popularize scientific knowledge for a wide audience. Flammarion founded the Société Astronomique de France and directed the observatory at Juvisy. Alongside his scientific work, he investigated reports of hauntings, apparitions, and psychic experiences, seeking to examine them with the same curiosity and method he applied to the natural world.
